Description

The Academic Counsellor will provide guidance and support to students in their academic journeys, helping them to navigate course selections, understand academic policies, and develop strategies for success.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic guidance and support to students in selecting courses and planning their educational paths.
• Assist students in understanding academic policies and procedures.
• Conduct one-on-one and group counseling sessions to address students academic concerns.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance student success and retention rates.
• Maintain accurate records of student interactions and progress.
• Collaborate with faculty and administrative staff to improve academic programs and student services.
• Organize workshops and seminars on academic skills, career planning, and personal development.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
• 1-6 years of experience in academic counseling or a related role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to empathize with students and provide tailored support.
• Knowledge of academic programs, educational resources, and career options.
• Proficiency in using counseling software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
