Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – PPC to oversee production planning, scheduling, and control functions within a precision machining environment. The role requires strong coordination across departments, a data-driven approach to planning, and the ability to ensure on-time delivery while optimizing resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, schedule, and monitor daily production activities to ensure optimal machine utilization
- Develop and execute production plans aligned with customer delivery timelines
- Manage customer communication regarding order status, timelines, and commitments
- Lead raw material planning and coordinate closely with procurement and suppliers
- Monitor inventory levels, including raw materials, WIP (Work in Progress), and finished goods, ensuring optimal stock levels
- Track production progress and proactively implement corrective actions to meet targets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Purchase, and Quality to ensure seamless operations
- Utilize ERP/SAP systems for production planning, tracking, and reporting
- Prepare and maintain MIS reports, dashboards, and performance metrics using Excel
- Lead, guide, and develop the PPC team to drive efficiency and accountability
Requirements
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in production planning, scheduling, and machine loading
- Solid understanding of inventory management, safety stock, and WIP control
- Proven experience in customer coordination and supplier management
- Proficiency in ERP/SAP systems for planning and reporting
- Advanced Excel skills for data analysis and reporting
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities
- Effective communication and team leadership skills
Preferred Background
- Experience in precision machining or manufacturing environments is highly preferred
- Prior experience in a similar leadership role within PPC
- Aerospace Component Manufacturing
