We are seeking a highly capable Chartered Accountant with 4–5 years of post‑qualification experience in Statutory Audit within a CA Practice. The role involves end‑to‑end management of audit engagements, technical review of financial statements, supervision of audit teams, and ensuring compliance with Indian auditing, accounting, and regulatory standards.
Candidates should have strong experience in audit execution for diverse industries and be comfortable working in a fast‑paced CA firm environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Audit Planning & Engagement Management
- Lead statutory audits for clients across industries—manufacturing, services, trading, NBFCs, etc.
- Conduct detailed planning, including risk assessment, materiality determination, and scoping.
- Identify significant risk areas and develop a clear audit strategy aligned with Standards on Auditing (SAs).
2. Execution of Statutory Audits
- Independently execute statutory audits of private companies, public companies, LLPs, and group audit components.
- Perform testing of complex balances such as revenue, inventory, provisions, deferred tax, financial instruments, leases, impairment, and related‑party transactions.
- Ensure compliance with:
- Ind AS / IGAAP
- Companies Act, 2013
- Schedule III reporting requirements
- CARO 2020
- ICAI Standards on Auditing
- Identify audit adjustments, control weaknesses, and areas requiring management attention.
3. Review, Documentation & Reporting
- Review audit documentation prepared by article assistants and audit staff.
- Draft and review:
- Financial statements and notes to accounts
- Statutory audit reports
- CARO reports
- Management letters / internal control recommendations
- Ensure documentation meets ICAI quality standards and peer‑review expectations.
4. Client Relationship Management
- Act as the main point of contact for client CFOs, finance managers, and owners.
- Handle technical accounting queries and provide clear, practical guidance.
- Manage client expectations, timelines, and deliverables.
5. Team Leadership & Mentoring
- Supervise teams of 3–10 members based on engagement size.
- Review work, provide feedback, and ensure high audit quality.
- Train article assistants on audit methodology, testing procedures, and documentation standards.
6. Technical & Regulatory Expertise
- Stay updated with the latest changes in:
- Ind AS and Accounting Standards
- Companies Act amendments
- CARO requirements
- GST/Direct tax implications relevant to financial statements
- ICAI notifications and guidance notes
- Assist in resolving technical accounting issues through research and consultation.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate laws, Ind AS, IGAAP, SAs, and statutory compliance.
- Experience in preparing/ reviewing financial statements under Schedule III.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, audit sampling techniques, and audit software.
Soft Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client-facing responsibilities.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
- Ability to manage multiple audits simultaneously.
- Leadership mindset with a focus on quality and timelines.
Educational & Experience Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
- 4–5 years of post‑qualification experience in Statutory Audit within a CA firm.
- Experience handling end‑to‑end audits independently is essential.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work extended hours during peak audit seasons.
- Willingness to travel for on-site audits as required.
- Exposure to audits of listed entities/large unlisted groups is an added advantage.
- Familiarity with peer-review requirements preferred.
