Job Summary
We are looking for a highly driven and detail-oriented Assistant Manager – Logistics to manage end-to-end logistics operations while owning MIS reporting and data-driven decision-making. This role requires a balance of execution excellence and analytical capability to ensure efficient dispatch, cost control, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Logistics Operations
- Plan and execute daily dispatch operations in line with order priorities and timelines.
- Coordinate with transporters, courier partners, and aggregators for smooth shipment flow.
- Ensure on-time delivery and proactively manage delays or exceptions.
- Monitor inbound and outbound logistics activities.
- Optimize routes and freight costs for operational efficiency.
- Handle escalations related to shipment delays, damages, or losses.
- Ensure accurate and compliant documentation (Invoice, Packing Slip, E-way Bill, etc.).
- Warehouse Coordination
- Work closely with the warehouse team for order processing, packing, and dispatch readiness.
- Ensure inventory accuracy and real-time stock movement tracking.
- Monitor loading/unloading operations and manpower productivity.
- Maintain FIFO and inventory discipline across operations.
- MIS & Reporting (Core Responsibility)
- Own and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports for logistics performance.
- Track and analyze key KPIs such as dispatch TAT, delivery performance, RTO %, and cost per shipment.
- Maintain accurate shipment and logistics data in Excel/ERP systems.
- Build dashboards and reports using advanced Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
- Identify trends, gaps, and actionable insights from data.
- Share structured reports with management for decision-making and strategic planning.
- Process Improvement & Cost Optimization
- Identify operational bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives across transportation and handling.
- Standardize SOPs and ensure adherence across teams.
- Continuously improve service levels and operational efficiency.
Required Skills
- Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain operations
- Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, basic data analysis)
- Experience in MIS reporting and performance tracking
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Problem-solving mindset with analytical thinking
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Qualification & Experience
- Graduate / Post Graduate (Supply Chain / Logistics preferred)
- 2–5 years of experience in logistics operations with MIS exposure
Preferred Profile
- Experience in e-commerce or high-volume warehouse operations
- Familiarity with ERP systems
- Exposure to courier aggregators and multi-carrier shipping
