Job Description

Assistant Manager IT (Infra, Network & End Users Support) will be in charge of overseeing private and public cloud data center. The role will act as a go-to-point for data center services and advise various internal, partner and customer teams on data center services. The responsibility includes maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, applications and servers. The job will also be responsible for actively resolving problems and issues with application and server systems to limit work disruptions within the company.

JOB ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of the data center services service level agreements between stakeholders and the customer which details the parameters of the data center services to be provided.
  • Ensuring effective and efficient management of day-to-day 24x7 Datacenter Operations including industry leading Cloud hosting like AWS, Azure, private cloud etc.
  • Involved in and manages incident, problem, and change management for service on day-to-day basis as per defined SLAs. Ensures root cause analysis and permanent fix for problems.
  • To provide technical management for all data centers, both on-site and co-located and lead planning and implementation of projects for IT and cross-functional business teams.
  • Ensure high availability and acceptable levels of performance of mission-critical business resources.
  • Perform escalated troubleshooting as required and is the primary technical owner of mission-critical business systems.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the data center, monitoring system performance, configuration & maintenance of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
  • Collaborates and contributes with team members, software vendors, DC vendors and other technical staff to develop, design, implement, and continuously improve systems.
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Develop procedures to maintain security, protect systems from un-authorized access, documentation for backup and restoration of systems and data.
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes.
  • Coordination with IT security and data center service provider to apply regular patches and upgrades (including middleware components such as SSL, domain renewals, etc.) to host system firmware and software.
  • Develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures to ensure operational reliability.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts often involving outside vendors and other support personnel and/or organizations.
  • Install, modify and maintain systems and utility software on server and cloud computer systems.
  • Responsible for capacity, storage planning, and database performance.
  • To Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology and recommend ways for organization to take advantage of new technologies.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Good knowledge of IT infrastructure.
  • Should be a subject master in Data Center and Cloud Operations including Azure administration
  • Knowledge of server hardware maintenance/troubleshooting across multiple server vendors including but not limited to servers, storages, routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows administration, virtualization, Linux/Unix, Network and Storage systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Professional certification on two or more of the public cloud offerings including Azure & AWS. Microsoft certifications AZ-104 is must
  • ITIL certified In-depth knowledge and experience of change / incident management.
  • Project Management skills. People, Escalations Assets & Vendor Management skills

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or equivalent

Relevant Experience:

  • 8-10 years in a corporate IT
  • Excellent relationship building and interpersonal skills, including cross-cultural competence.
  • Proven delivery excellence ideally using Agile.
  • Strong leadership qualities and a passion for building high performing teams.
