Job Description

Job Title: Assistant Manager - HRBP

Job Location: Pune Only

About the Role: We are seeking a strategic and people-focused HR Manager to align HR initiatives with business goals and drive organizational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will bring strong business acumen, excellent stakeholder management skills, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization. This role will focus on enhancing employee engagement, strengthening organizational culture, and supporting leadership in building a high-performance workplace. The incumbent will act as a trusted advisor to management while overseeing HR programs and people practices for a workforce of 800+ employees.

Key responsibilities:

HR Business Partnering

  • Partner with business leaders to provide strategic HR guidance on performance management, compensation planning, employee relations, and workforce planning.
  • Lead performance appraisal cycles and support managers in goal setting and performance reviews.
  • Support the development and implementation of HR policies, processes, and best practices.
  • Drive organizational effectiveness and change management initiatives to improve productivity and business performance.
  • Support compensation and benefits planning to ensure market competitiveness and employee satisfaction.
  • Design and implement employee recognition and engagement programs to improve morale and retention.
  • Lead and support culture-building initiatives, including diversity, equity, inclusion, and employee wellness programs.
  • Manage employee relations matters and facilitate conflict resolution to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Partner with Learning & Development teams to identify training needs, support reskilling/upskilling initiatives, and align development programs with business objectives.
  • Drive succession planning and leadership development initiatives to build a strong talent pipeline.
  • Create HR metrics, dashboards, and reports to provide actionable insights and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Track HR metrics such as attrition, engagement, hiring, and employee performance.
  • Provide guidance on performance improvement plans (PIP) and employee development.
  • Support payroll coordination and benefits administration.
  • Ensure implementation and adherence to the POSH policy in line with statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate and support the Internal Committee (IC) for POSH-related matters.
  • Conduct POSH awareness and sensitization sessions across the organization.
  • Maintain documentation and reporting related to POSH compliance and annual filings.
  • Handle employee grievances and complaints related to workplace harassment with confidentiality and sensitivity.
  • Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Manage and optimize the organization's HRMS platform for employee lifecycle management.
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records, attendance, leave management, payroll inputs, and HR data within the HRMS.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors for HRMS implementation, enhancements, and issue resolution.
  • Generate HR reports, dashboards, and analytics through HRMS to support business decisions.
  • Drive automation and process improvement initiatives through effective utilization of HR technology.
  • Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and system compliance across HR platforms.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws, statutory regulations, and employment legislations.
  • Oversee statutory compliances related to PF, ESIC, gratuity, bonus, shops & establishment regulations, and other applicable labour requirements.
  • Coordinate with legal and compliance teams to address employment-related matters and audits.
  • Maintain statutory records, registers, and documentation as required by law.
  • Ensure timely submission of statutory filings and compliance reports.
  • Keep the organization updated on changes in labour laws and HR compliance requirements.

Key Requirements:

  • Master's degree in human resources.
  • 10+ years of experience in Human Resources, with significant experience as an HR Business Partner.
  • 4+ years of experience managing and mentoring HR teams.
  • Strong understanding of HR analytics, workforce metrics, and KPI management.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, employment regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven expertise in performance management, compensation & benefits, employee engagement, talent management, and organizational development.
  • Proficient in MS excel.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving, project management, and change management capabilities.
  • High level of professionalism, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive mindset with strong relationship-building abilities.
