Assistant Manager – HR Operations (Payroll & Contract Labour Management)

About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and execution-focused HR Operations professional to manage Payroll, Statutory Compliance, and Contract Labour Management at the plant level.
The role will ensure smooth payroll processing, vendor coordination, statutory compliance, and effective management of contract workforce in line with labour laws.
Key Responsibilities
1️⃣ Payroll Management
- End-to-end payroll coordination for plant employees (white-collar & blue-collar)
- Attendance validation, shift data verification, overtime calculation
- Full & final settlement processing
- Payroll inputs preparation and coordination with finance/payroll vendor
- Ensuring timely salary disbursement
- Handling payroll queries and grievance resolution
2️⃣ Contract Labour Management
- Managing contract labour workforce and vendor coordination
- Verification of contractor bills (wages, PF, ESI, bonus, leave wages, etc.)
- Ensuring statutory compliance under CLRA Act
- Maintaining contractor agreements and documentation
- Monitoring manpower deployment vs approved headcount
- Conducting audits of contractor statutory records
- Ensuring minimum wages compliance and timely wage payments
3️⃣ Statutory Compliance
- Compliance with:
- Factories Act
- CLRA Act
- PF & ESI
- Bonus Act
- Gratuity Act
- Shops & Establishment (if applicable)
- Liaison with labour department and government authorities
- Maintaining statutory registers and documentation
- Supporting internal and external audits
4️⃣ HR Operations & MIS
- Maintaining HRIS data accuracy
- Preparing monthly HR MIS reports
- Leave and attendance management
- Maintaining employee files and documentation
- Supporting onboarding and exit formalities
5️⃣ Employee Relations Support
- Handling employee grievances related to payroll and attendance
- Supporting IR matters at plant level
- Coordination with contractors and plant supervisors
Desired Candidate Profile
- MBA / PGDM in HR or equivalent
- 8–10 years of experience in HR Operations (Manufacturing / Plant environment preferred)
- Strong experience in payroll processing and contract labour compliance
- Good knowledge of labour laws and statutory requirements
- Hands-on experience in attendance & payroll systems
- Strong coordination and vendor management skills
