Assistant Manager - Finance
Role Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and technically strong Assistant Manager - Finance to lead core finance operations, ensure robust statutory compliance, and manage all audit activities. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise, the ability to independently manage a finance function, and proven experience leading and developing a team.
Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting
- Lead the month-end and year-end closure process with high accuracy and adherence to accounting standards.
- Oversee general ledger, books of accounts, revenue recognition, provisions, and financial reconciliations.
- Review and validate financial statements, MIS reports, and management dashboards.
- Support budgeting, cash flow management, and financial planning activities.
Statutory Compliance & Controls
- Ensure full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements including GST,TDS, Income Tax, PF/ESI, PT, and Companies Act provisions.
- Oversee timely filing of all returns, challans, and regulatory submissions.
- Implement and strengthen internal controls, documentation standards, and compliance processes.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and recommend process or policy updates.
Audit Management
- Drive the complete audit cycle: statutory audit, internal audit, tax audit, and other compliance reviews.
- Prepare, review, and approve audit schedules; ensure timely resolution of auditor queries.
- Coordinate closely with external auditors, consultants, and internal departments for smooth audit closure.
- Ensure implementation of audit recommendations and improvements.
Team Leadership & Development
- Manage and mentor a small team of accountants/executives; ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Provide guidance on accounting treatments, compliance matters, and process improvements.
- Plan workload, track performance, and support continuous skill development.
Stakeholder & Cross-functional Collaboration
- Work closely with business teams, operations, HR, supply chain, and leadership for financial decision support.
- Manage banking relationships, payment cycles, and coordination with financial institutions.
- Prepare management presentations, dashboards, and periodic financial updates.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce/Finance; CA Inter or MBA Finance preferred (not mandatory).
- 68 years of experience in accounting, compliance, and audit handling, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP, direct/indirect tax rules, and statutory compliance framworks.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems (Tally, ERPNext or any other ERP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical ability, problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
