Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead and coordinate electrical engineering projects from conceptualization through commissioning, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Electrical System Design and Implementation: Oversee design, specification, and installation of electrical systems including power distribution, protection systems, control panels, and automation solutions aligned with industry best practices.
- Operation & Maintenance: Manage and optimize day-to-day electrical operations including preventive and corrective maintenance schedules to ensure system reliability, minimize downtime, and extend equipment life.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to all electrical safety codes, environmental regulations, and company policies. Conduct regular safety audits and implement corrective actions.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead a multidisciplinary team of electrical engineers, technicians, and contractors; provide mentorship, training, and performance reviews to foster continuous learning and high performance.
- Budgeting & Cost Control: Prepare and manage budgets related to electrical operations and projects. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Technical Documentation & Reporting: Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, maintenance manuals, and project reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with internal teams, vendors, and regulatory authorities to ensure smooth execution of electrical projects and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives for process optimization, energy efficiency improvements, and adoption of new technologies to advance the operational capabilities of the electrical systems.
- Emergency Response: Establish and enforce protocols for handling electrical emergencies and breakdowns to minimize impact on plant operations.
Qualifications
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field from a recognized university.
- Master's degree or higher qualification will be an added advantage.
Certification Required
- Professional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer certification preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as Electrical Safety, Project Management (PMP), or Energy Management certifications are advantageous.
