Job Purpose

To deliver design edge in congruence with the brand design strategy maintaining international standards, competitive edge and ensuring adherence to the brand design calendar.

Job Context & Major Challenges

The entry of international brands in the Indian apparel market has tremendously increased the competition for all MFL brands. To keep up the competitive edge there is a need for the design team to constantly innovate and create concepts and range which can bring excitement to the customers. The design team needs to work on well rounded concept development in line with trends and brand brief and provide cutting edge merchandize for retail as well as non-retail channels. The approach to develop collection should have ample scope for commercial success. An emphasis needs to be given to Product presentation and packaging as per the defined International benchmarks.

KRA1Create seasonal concepts and designs- Interact with Designer, Brand Designer for the inputs on the new seasonal collections and range planning.
- Conduct seasonal market surveys to understand the competition trends and evolution of category in the market.
- Develop concepts as per the guidelines of Brand designer and Presentation of concepts to obtain views and finalize the final range for the season.
- Develop the seasons range presentation boards and samples with the help of sourcing and product teams and arrange to help organize the trade show.
- Present, influence, sell at the trade shows to meet the business goals and also collect feedback on the line.
KRA2Finalization of Samples- Make detailed indents for each sample with specs, artworks, colorways etc. clearly defined
- Handing over detailed DMH notes to sampling merchandiser
- Approval of the final gold seals made by sampling merchandiser
KRA3Product/ Design Innovations- Develop innovative garment designs, fabrics, styling, fits etc.
- Make PD briefs
