Job Description

We are seeking an experienced L2 Cloud Engineer specializing in Microsoft Azure Cloud Service Provider (CSP) environments to support, manage, and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing, troubleshooting, and securing Azure-based workloads, providing L2-level operational support, and working alongside senior engineers on cloud automation and optimization initiatives.

The L2 Cloud Engineer will focus on incident resolution, infrastructure administration, automation, security compliance, and performance optimization while ensuring smooth cloud operations and scalability.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

Azure Cloud Operations & Administration:

Provide L2 support for Azure cloud infrastructure, including Virtual Machines (VMs), Virtual Networks (VNet), Storage Accounts, Azure Active Directory (AAD), and App Services.

Troubleshoot and resolve Azure networking, security, and resource performance issues.

Assist in provisioning, scaling, and optimizing Azure workloads.

Implement cloud governance policies, tagging strategies, and cost control measures.

Support hybrid cloud connectivity, including Azure VPN, ExpressRoute, and Azure AD Connect.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

Automate Azure resource deployments and configurations using Terraform, ARM Templates, or Bicep.

Develop and maintain PowerShell or Azure CLI scripts for automation and administration tasks.

Assist in managing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.

Security, Compliance & Governance:

Implement Azure IAM best practices, RBAC, MFA, and Conditional Access Policies.

Monitor and enforce security compliance using Azure Security Center and Microsoft Defender for Cloud.

Support patching and security updates for Azure resources.

Assist in incident response, vulnerability remediation, and security auditing.

Monitoring & Performance Optimization:

Monitor Azure resources using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.

Analyze and troubleshoot resource performance, availability, and capacity issues.

Optimize Azure resource utilization and cost efficiency.

Assist in backup, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies using Azure Site Recovery (ASR) and Azure Backup.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Work closely with L3 engineers, DevOps teams, and security teams to improve Azure cloud operations.

Document troubleshooting steps, procedures, and knowledge base articles.

Participate in Azure architecture discussions and service improvements.
