Job Summary
The Area Sales Manager (ASM) is responsible for driving sales, managing distributors and sales representatives, and ensuring strong market coverage in the assigned area. The role focuses on achieving sales targets, expanding market presence, and maintaining strong trade relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for the assigned area.
- Appoint, train, and manage distributors and sales executives.
- Develop and implement area sales strategies in line with regional objectives.
- Ensure proper product placement, visibility, and availability across retail channels.
- Track competitor activities, pricing, and market trends.
- Conduct regular market visits to monitor team performance and trade feedback.
- Execute promotional campaigns and trade schemes effectively.
- Maintain accurate records of sales, collections, and market data.
- Coordinate with marketing, logistics, and finance teams to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (MBA preferred).
- 37 years of experience in sales (FMCG / Pharma / Consumer Durables / Agri / depending on sector).
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical abilities.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, CRM, and reporting tools.
- Fluency in English, Hindi, and Bengali preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned area.
