Role Description The Area Sales Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in chennai, responsible for driving sales and business growth for Godrej Capital's products in the assigned territory. This role involves managing and expanding a network of channel partners, identifying and onboarding new intermediaries, and nurturing strong relationships with customers and stakeholders. The Area Sales Manager will plan and execute sales strategies, track performance against targets, and generate regular reports and insights to support decision-making. Daily activities include market mapping, customer visits, lead follow-up, coordination with credit and operations teams, and ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role also includes training and supporting field teams and partners to enhance product knowledge and improve customer experience.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in area or territorial sales management within financial services, housing finance, banking, or NBFCs, with a strong track record of achieving targets.
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with channel partners, DSAs, and corporate or MSME clients.
  • Solid understanding of retail lending, MSME finance, or housing finance products, along with familiarity with credit processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Competence in sales planning, market analysis, and pipeline management, with the ability to use data and digital tools to monitor and improve performance.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial products clearly and build trust with diverse customer groups.
  • Ability to work on-site in Vellore, travel within the territory as needed, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • High level of integrity, customer-centric mindset, and a commitment to inclusive, responsible lending aligned with Godrej Capital's values.
