Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Area Sales Manager role based in pan India. The Area Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales growth for sterilization and process equipment within the assigned territory by identifying new business opportunities, managing existing accounts, and building strong relationships with decision-makers in pharmaceutical, industrial, and research organizations. Day-to-day responsibilities include visiting customers, conducting product presentations and technical discussions, preparing and following up on quotations, and negotiating commercially viable deals. The role will coordinate closely with internal engineering, service, and production teams to ensure accurate proposals, timely deliveries, and high customer satisfaction. The Area Sales Manager will also track market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to support sales forecasting and contribute to strategic planning.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in B2B industrial or capital equipment sales, preferably in pharmaceutical, process, or sterilization equipment.
  • Strong skills in lead generation, territory management, customer relationship management, and negotiation.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, read basic P&IDs/drawings, and communicate technical features and benefits clearly.
  • Proficiency in preparing sales proposals, quotations, and basic commercial calculations (pricing, margins, and payment terms).
  • Effective communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders, including engineers, production heads, and procurement teams.
  • Capability to work independently in the field, meet sales targets, and manage time and travel schedules efficiently.
  • Comfort with using CRM tools, MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), and digital communication platforms for reporting and customer follow-ups.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Instrumentation) or a related technical field; an MBA in Marketing or a related discipline is an advantage.
