Role Description

The Area Business Manager will lead business development and partnership initiatives in the K-12 education and CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) ecosystem. The role involves driving growth through schools, corporate CSR initiatives, NGOs, and foundations. The candidate will be responsible for building strategic relationships, driving revenue, managing regional teams, and ensuring smooth execution of projects aligned with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Partnerships

  • Identify, develop, and manage strategic partnerships with K-12 schools, NGOs, CSR funders, and foundations.
  • Drive end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation, proposal development, negotiation, and closure.
  • Design and present impactful proposals aligning company offerings with partner needs.
  • Work with corporates to identify CSR funding opportunities for education/livelihood projects.

Regional Management & Execution

  • Achieve business targets and revenue goals in the assigned region.
  • Develop and implement regional growth plans and market penetration strategies.
  • Manage regional P&L and ensure effective utilization of resources.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a regional business development team.

CSR Program Management

  • Align CSR proposals with statutory requirements under the Companies Act.
  • Monitor project implementation and ensure compliance with CSR reporting standards.
  • Provide periodic updates and impact reports to funders and partners.

Qualifications

  • 2 - 5 years of proven experience in business development, partnerships, or sales, preferably in education/CSR/social sector/EdTech.
  • Demonstrated success in institutional sales, CSR-linked projects, or government partnerships.
  • Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of education policy frameworks, CSR mandates, and procurement processes is highly desirable.
  • Self-driven, result-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned states.
