As an Application Support Engineer, you will act as software detectives, identifying and solving issues within critical business systems. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth functioning of applications and providing technical support to end-users.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and manage the team to perform effectively.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute to key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for your immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Ensure timely resolution of application issues and incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
- Conduct regular system audits to ensure data integrity and security.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must Have Skills:
- Proficiency in IBM z/OS.
- Strong understanding of mainframe systems and architecture.
- Experience in troubleshooting and resolving application issues on IBM z/OS.
- Knowledge of JCL, COBOL, and other mainframe programming languages.
- Familiarity with job scheduling and batch processing on IBM z/OS.
- Good to Have Skills:
- Experience with IBM CICS and IMS.
- Experience in performance tuning and optimization of mainframe applications.
- Knowledge of mainframe security and access control mechanisms.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have a minimum of 7.5 years of experience in IBM z/OS.
- A 15 years full-time education is required.
