API / Automation Test Engineer - Software Quality Assurance

Key Responsibilities:

API Test Automation

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for API testing using Python
• Set up and enhance automation frameworks such as PyTest and Robot Framework
• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for validating API functionalities

Testing Execution & Defect Management

• Perform functional, regression, integration, and performance testing on APIs
• Identify, document, and track defects using defect tracking tools
• Collaborate with developers and other QA team members for issue resolution

CI/CD Integration

• Ensure integration of API tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins or Azure DevOps
• Continuously monitor and improve automation coverage and test execution reliability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand API requirements and expected behaviors
• Contribute to process improvements in QA methodologies for API automation

Payments Domain Exposure

• Understand basics of payment gateway operations such as UPI Switch Transition, Biller Management System, Mandate Unification System, and Wallet Aggregation

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Proven experience in QA automation with Python focused on API testing
• Hands-on experience with automation frameworks like PyTest or Robot Framework
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and defect lifecycle
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to quickly learn and understand complex functional requirements

Preferred Skills:

• Exposure to the payments domain including UPI, Biller systems, and wallets
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
