Job Description

About Marvell

Marvell's semiconductor solutions are the essential building blocks of the data infrastructure that connects our world. Across enterprise, cloud and AI, and carrier architectures, our innovative technology is enabling new possibilities.

At Marvell, you can affect the arc of individual lives, lift the trajectory of entire industries, and fuel the transformative potential of tomorrow. For those looking to make their mark on purposeful and enduring innovation, above and beyond fleeting trends, Marvell is a place to thrive, learn, and lead.

Your Team, Your Impact

Marvell is seeking an experienced Senior Principal Analog Engineer to join our Central Engineering organization - the core innovation hub that develops foundational IP leveraged across all Marvell product lines.

If you imagine Marvell as a wheel, Central Engineering is the hub, enabling and accelerating innovation across every spoke. In this highly visible role, you will become a key member of an elite analog design team, delivering critical technologies that shape the future of Marvell's optical and silicon photonics platforms.

In this position, you will drive the design and delivery of cutting edge silicon photonics analog circuits that play a pivotal role in next-generation optical interconnect solutions. Your work will directly influence products deployed across CPO, LPO, and advanced 2.5D/3D packaging systems, helping define Marvell's long-term technology roadmap.

You will design, own, and validate complex analog macros used to control, calibrate, and monitor silicon photonics components such as Micro-Ring Modulators (MRMs), Coupled Ring Resonators (CRRs), heaters, and monitor photodiodes.

What You Can Expect

Lead architecture definition and circuit design for high-performance analog and mixed-signal IP used in silicon photonics and optical products.

  • Design and own ADCs, DACs, Regulators, DLLs, PLLs, CTLEs, and Bandgap circuits supporting silicon photonics components such as MRMs, CRRs, heaters, and monitor photodiodes.
  • Drive analog solutions optimized for power, performance, area, cost, and reliability across advanced packaging platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (system, RTL, firmware, verification, DFT, physical design, and packaging) to ensure successful integration.
  • Provide technical leadership from concept through tape-out, post-silicon validation, qualification, and mass production.
  • Support post-silicon bring-up, debug, characterization, and customer‑facing issue resolution.
  • Mentor junior engineers and guide layout activities to ensure design quality and robustness.

What We're Looking For

  • Master's degree in Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering (or related field) with 15+ years of experience, OR
  • PhD in Electrical, Electronics & Communication Engineering (or related field) with 12+ years of experience
  • Specialization in Microelectronics or Analog/Mixed-Signal Design preferred.
  • Experience & Technical Skills
    • Demonstrated expertise in high-speed and low-power analog design on advanced CMOS technologies.
    • Proven track record of multiple successful tape-outs into production.
    • Deep understanding of CMOS process technology, device physics, and the impact of process variation.
    • Strong hands-on experience with EDA tools (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor Graphics) for schematic capture, simulation, layout, and verification.
    • Proficiency in post-silicon validation and lab-based debugging of analog and mixed-signal circuits.
Leadership & Collaboration

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience collaborating across diverse engineering disciplines.
  • Ability to technically lead projects and coordinate the work of junior engineers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex design challenges.

Additional Compensation And Benefit Elements
