AI Engineer – Intern

Role Overview

We are looking for a technically strong and product-driven AI Engineer – Intern who is eager to build scalable applications and contribute to AI-powered solutions.

As an AI Engineer Intern, you will work on building AI-powered agentic systems and RAG-based applications, collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to ship real-world AI features.

• Location: Hybrid - Bengaluru (in-office collaboration expected)
• Duration: 6 Months

What You'll Work On

AI Application Development

• Build AI-powered applications using LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source models)
• Work with frameworks like LangGraph, Mastra, or similar
• Integrate AI features into Astra's cybersecurity platform

RAG & Knowledge Systems

• Assist in building Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems
• Work on embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search
• Improve prompt design and retrieval quality

Agentic Workflows

• Help build AI agents that can execute multi-step tasks
• Work on integrating agents with APIs and internal tools

Engineering & Systems

• Write clean, scalable code in Python or TypeScript
• Contribute to APIs and backend services for AI features
• Work with tools like Docker, Git, and basic CI/CD

Tools & Tech You'll Use

• Python / TypeScript
• LangGraph, Mastra, CrewAI (or similar)
• Vector DBs (FAISS, PGVector, Pinecone, Weaviate)
• LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Llama, Mistral)
• Docker, Git, CI/CD
• AWS / GCP (basics)

What We're Looking For

• Final-year student or recent graduate in CS/AI or related field
• Have built at least one AI project (RAG app, chatbot, or AI agent)
• Basic understanding of LLMs and how they work
• Comfortable coding in Python or TypeScript
• Curious, hands-on, and eager to build real-world AI systems

Nice to Have

• Experience with RAG or vector databases
• Exposure to agent frameworks
• Interest in cybersecurity
