Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

1. Circuit Design & Development:

  • Assist in electronics circuit design, including analog and digital circuits.
  • Perform component selection and schematic entry for new product designs.
  • Conduct circuit analysis for tolerance, power, thermal, and worst-case analysis.
  • Collaborate with the layout engineer to ensure proper layout guidelines are followed.

2. Board Bring-up & Testing:

  • Lead board bring-up and testing of new designs, ensuring functionality and compliance with performance standards.
  • Participate in environmental testing to evaluate hardware behavior under various conditions.

3. Compliance & Quality:

  • Ensure the designs adhere to quality, process, and program compliance standards.
  • Focus on EMI/EMC compliance, ensuring designs meet RF and electrical standards.
  • Implement design improvements to optimize performance and meet project requirements.

4. Technical Leadership & Problem Solving:

  • Provide technical guidance and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex issues, developing solutions that involve multiple technical disciplines.
  • Participate in high-level and low-level design reviews, ensuring thorough evaluation and improvements.

5. Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to develop innovative solutions and identify the root causes of technical issues.
  • Use integrative thinking to propose and visualize solutions that meet industry standards.
  • Contribute to the preparation of technology roadmaps for product hardware and platforms.

6. Product Development & Process Improvement:

  • Collaborate on product development using CMMi, AS9100C, Six-Sigma, and other HW development processes.
  • Ensure the use of best practices in PCB design and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).

7. Mentoring & Training:

  • Mentor junior engineers and assist in developing their skills in hardware design and system integration.
  • Guide and support team members on schematic, layout tools (Dx Designer, Hyperlynx DRC, SI), and general electronics design practices.

Education & Experience:

  • B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Power Electronics.
  • 7-8 years of hands-on experience in electronics design with a focus on digital and mixed-signal designs.
  • Proven expertise in high-speed digital design, EMI/EMC design, and RF conducted and radiated emissions testing.

Skills & Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of electronics hardware involving digital/microprocessor circuits, power, and EMI circuits.
  • Hands-on experience in designing for EMI/EMC compliance, including shielding and grounding techniques.
  • Experience in board design, EMI filter design, lightning analysis, and component selection.
  • Proficiency in schematic and layout tools such as Dx Designer, Hyperlynx DRC, and Hyperlynx SI.
  • Analytical skills: Ability to perform complex circuit analysis, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
  • Technical leadership: Ability to guide and lead projects while contributing to innovative solutions.
  • Knowledge of HW development processes such as CMMi, AS9100C, and Six-Sigma.
