About The Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant specializing in Payroll and Bookkeeping to join our team. This is a full-time remote position designed to support our payroll outsourcing operations and bookkeeping activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processing, statutory calculations, payroll reporting, and basic bookkeeping tasks using Xero. The role requires a proactive individual capable of working independently, managing deadlines effectively, and ensuring accuracy in every aspect of their work. The position offers an excellent opportunity to develop expertise in payroll management and accounting within a supportive and flexible work environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess a fundamental understanding of payroll processing, salary components, and statutory compliance such as TDS and PF. Proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel is essential, with familiarity in using formulas, filters, and data management techniques. Basic knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles is required to support transaction recording and reconciliation activities. Candidates should demonstrate keen attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple operational tasks efficiently while adhering to deadlines. A graduation in Commerce or related fields is preferred, and prior experience in payroll, HR operations, or accounting is advantageous. Exposure to payroll software like Xero is a plus but not mandatory.
Responsibilities
Payroll Operations
- Verify payroll inputs and process salary calculations accurately.
- Handle payroll-related tasks such as generating YTD reports and payslips.
- Support in statutory compliance activities including PF and TDS calculations and updates.
- Ensure timely completion of payroll activities, adhering to compliance deadlines.
Bookkeeping Support
- Assist in maintaining bookkeeping activities using Xero accounting software.
- Record basic accounting entries and ensure proper documentation of transactions.
- Support transaction reconciliation and organize financial data for reporting purposes.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare and deliver timely reports such as monthly and quarterly TDS filings.
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather payroll and employee data accurately.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of employee and client information at all times.
