About the University and the Role

The University of Aberdeen will open its Mumbai campus in Powai in September 2026. At launch, it will offer six programmes: four-year undergraduate degrees in Computing, Data Science, Economics, and Business Management, along with one-year master's degrees in Artificial Intelligence and Business Administration.
The Academic & Research Associate (Computing) will work closely with core faculty in Computer Science, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence, supporting teaching, research, and academic administration. This role is ideal for high‑potential individuals planning to pursue a PhD or long‑term academic career in computing‑related disciplines.

Key Responsibilities
Academic & Teaching Support
- Assist faculty in course preparation, delivery, and administration
- Support classroom activities, tutorials, labs, and student discussions
- Prepare and manage course materials, assignments, quizzes, and exams
- Assist with grading, evaluation, and timely student feedback
- Address student academic queries and provide academic support
Research Support & Grant Submission
- Assist faculty in research projects, including:
- Literature reviews
- Data analysis
- Drafting research papers
- Support submission of research to journals and conferences
- Assist with development and submission of grant applications
Academic Administration
- Manage course operations through Learning Management Systems (LMS)
- Maintain accurate academic records and documentation
- Support exam coordination, invigilation, and result compilation
- Assist in departmental academic activities and workshops
Professional Development
- Participate in training on teaching methods, research tools, and academic writing
- Attend seminars, faculty talks, and academic workshops
- Build preparedness for future doctoral or academic roles
Qualifications & Experience
- Master's degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fields
- Strong and consistent academic record
- Candidates with prior research, teaching, or academic support experience preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong foundations in algorithms, programming, statistics, and data analysis
- Proficiency in Python / R / SQL and relevant computing tools
- Familiarity with ML/AI frameworks or data science workflows is desirable
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks
