Job Description

Role: Talent Acquisition Specialist for Engineering R&D

Location: IBC Knowledge Park, Bengaluru (Corporate Office)

Reporting to: Talent Acquisition Lead

Team name: People Operations & Strategy Team

About the Team and the Role

The People Operations & Strategy team at Ather is responsible for building a robust talent landscape by designing effective recruitment practices, ensuring seamless HRMS data integrity, and aligning organizational capabilities with strategic growth goals.

This role is for a Talent Acquisition Specialist who will drive end-to-end talent acquisition efforts for Engineering R&D stakeholders, collaborate closely with hiring managers to navigate the talent market, and champion specialized hiring initiatives for our engineering function.

Responsibilities

  • End-to-End Recruitment Management: Source, attract, screen, and assess candidates via databases and platforms (Naukri, LinkedIn) to manage the full candidate lifecycle from initial application through to final employee onboarding and vacancy closure.
  • Job Specification & Stakeholder Alignment: Develop and update job descriptions, publish opportunities across diverse recruitment channels, and leverage data-backed evidence to effectively manage hiring manager expectations regarding market dynamics.
  • Selection Process & Offer Management: Facilitate the comprehensive selection process alongside business leaders, manage offer negotiations, and secure necessary internal approvals to release official job offers.
  • Talent Pooling & Internal Mobility: Conduct regular mapping and searches within internal talent pools to actively promote and support career growth and development opportunities within Ather.
  • Process Improvement & Strategy: Recommend continuous enhancements to talent acquisition practices, processes, and corporate policies to mature and advance the overall Talent function.
  • Data Integrity & Compliance: Maintain strict data accuracy and system integrity within the internal HRMS through rigorous and periodic compliance reviews.

Experience and Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's/Master's in Management or any other equivalent degree
  • 4-8 years of experience in recruitment preferably across engineering roles

Must Have Competencies

  • Extensive knowledge of managing full-lifecycle end-to-end recruitment practices across diverse organizational levels in Engineering R&D.
  • Technical expertise in engineering hiring and specialized in hiring for Mid to Senior roles
  • Advanced proficiency in utilizing targeted sourcing channels, social media sourcing methodologies, and deep database mining via platforms like Naukri & LinkedIn
  • Implementation of AI to streamline the hiring process and increase efficiency & quality of hiring.
  • Strong stakeholder management and ensure the candidate & hiring manager experience.
  • Strong capabilities in executing selection processes, structured interviewing techniques, and strategic offer negotiation practices.

Good to Have Competencies

  • Proactive talent mapping and competitive intelligence gathering within the automotive, aerospace, robotics, and core engineering ecosystems in India
  • Ability to leverage recruitment analytics (e.g., funnel metrics, time-to-hire, offer-acceptance ratios, and source effectiveness) to advise business leaders on hiring
  • Familiarity with engineering landscapes, specific to automotive, EV, embedded systems, or R&D domain.
