Role Type: Freelance / Contract (Full-Time)
Location: Remote (India)
Compensation: 30K-50K/month
Commitment: 15 videos per month (1 video every 2 days)
About the Channel
We run a growing AI News YouTube channel that covers the latest breakthroughs, product launches, and industry developments in artificial intelligence. We publish 15 faceless, narrated long-form videos per month (815 minutes each) and are looking for a dedicated video editor to be the visual backbone of the channel.
You will receive a finalised script and AI-generated voice-over for each video. Your job is to turn that audio into a polished, engaging, and professional video that keeps viewers watching until the end.
What You'll Do
1.Receive Script + Voice Over For each video, you'll get a finalised script and an AI-generated voice-over file (MP3/WAV). Review both to understand the narrative flow and key visual moments before you start editing.
2.Source Visual Assets Find and compile relevant B-roll footage, stock clips, screen recordings, product screenshots, news graphics, and any other visuals needed to support the narration. Use royalty-free sources (Pexels, Pixabay, Storyblocks) or create custom assets as needed.
3.Video Editing & Assembly Edit the full video: sync visuals to voice-over, add motion graphics, text overlays, lower thirds, transitions, zoom effects, and visual emphasis on key points. The editing style should be fast-paced, visually rich, and optimised for retention similar to channels like AI Revolution X, Matt Wolfe, or AI Explained.
4.Add Intro, Outro & Branding Apply the channel's standard intro, outro, subscribe animation, logo watermark, and any recurring brand elements consistently across all videos.
5.Captions & Text Elements Add dynamic on-screen text for key terms, statistics, names, and any important callouts. Ensure text is readable, well-timed, and adds to the viewing experience rather than cluttering the screen.
6.Sound Design & Music Add background music (royalty-free), sound effects where appropriate, and ensure audio levels are balanced voice-over should always be crisp and dominant over background elements.
7.Revisions & Final Delivery Deliver the edited video for review. Make revisions based on feedback (typically 12 rounds per video). Export in YouTube-optimised format (1080p minimum, 4K preferred, proper bitrate).
Editing Style & Reference
The editing style we're looking for is clean, modern, and fast-paced the kind of editing that makes a faceless video feel premium and keeps retention high. Here are the reference channels to study:
AI Revolution Clean stock footage + text overlays, fast cuts, professional motion graphics
Matt Wolfe Screen recordings mixed with B-roll, dynamic zooms, engaging text callouts
AI Explained Minimal but polished, well-paced visuals that support dense information
Fireship Rapid-fire editing, strong use of motion graphics and visual humour (aspirational benchmark)
Watch a few videos from each of these channels before applying. If your editing style can match or exceed this level of quality, we want to hear from you.
Requirements
Proven YouTube Editing Experience You've edited videos for YouTube before and understand what keeps viewers watching. Portfolio or sample links required.
Software Proficiency Expert-level skills in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or After Effects.
Motion Graphics Ability to create or use motion graphic templates: text animations, lower thirds, transitions, data visualisations, and emphasis effects.
Fast Turnaround Ability to deliver a fully edited 815 minute video within 48 hours of receiving the voice-over. At 15 videos per month, you need to be efficient and consistent.
Visual Storytelling You know how to match visuals to narration in a way that feels natural and engaging. You don't just slap stock footage over audio you tell a visual story.
Attention to Detail No audio glitches, no mismatched visuals, no jarring transitions. Every video should feel polished and intentional.
Reliable & Communicative You hit deadlines consistently and proactively communicate if there's ever a delay. We're publishing on a schedule and delays affect the whole pipeline.
Understanding of AI/Tech Content You don't need to be an AI expert, but you should understand the visuals associated with the AI world: model interfaces, code, robotics, data visualisations, chip hardware, company logos, etc.
Nice to Have
Experience editing for AI, tech, or science YouTube channels specifically
Ability to create custom thumbnails (not required handled separately, but a bonus)
After Effects skills for advanced motion graphics and animated explainers
Access to stock footage subscriptions (Storyblocks, Envato Elements, etc.)
Basic understanding of YouTube retention patterns and how editing affects watch time
