Role Summary
The YouTube Manager will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, optimization,
and performance analysis of one or more YouTube channels. This role requires a strong
understanding of YouTube's publishing systems, analytics, and best practices, along with the
ability to collaborate closely with editorial and video production teams.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing and growing
long-form video content on YouTube.
Key Responsibilities
- Channel Management & Publishing
- Manage end-to-end YouTube publishing, including uploads, scheduling, metadata,
chapters, playlists, end screens, and cards
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with platform best practices
- Maintain organized channel structure and content archives
- Optimization & Performance
- Optimize titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails to improve CTR and discoverability
- Conduct ongoing performance reviews and recommend optimization improvements
- Support A/B testing initiatives for thumbnails and titles where applicable
- Analytics & Reporting
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as views, CTR, watch time,
retention, impressions, and subscriber growth
- Prepare regular performance reports with actionable insights
- Identify trends and patterns to inform future content and publishing strategies
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with editorial, scripting, design, and video teams to align content quality
with platform performance
- Provide data-backed feedback on pacing, hooks, and format effectiveness
- Support distribution strategies including Shorts, Community posts, and cross-platform
promotion
Required
Qualifications & Experience
- 2+ years of experience managing YouTube channels for media organizations, creators,
or brands
- Proven experience working with long-form video content
- Strong understanding of YouTube Studio, analytics, and platform mechanics
- Experience with content optimization, performance tracking, and reporting
- Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills
Preferred
- Experience managing impact, documentary, explainer, or editorial video content
- Familiarity with YouTube Shorts and Community features
- Basic understanding of storytelling principles and audience behavior
- Experience scaling channels beyond early growth stages
