Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design, architecture, and deployment of enterprise-grade WSO2 API Manager solutions.
- Define and enforce API governance, security policies, and access controls.
- Manage large-scale API ecosystems handling high transaction volumes.
- Guide migration projects (Kibana Grafana, Splunk Grafana, or API platform upgrades).
- Ensure observability and monitoring of APIs using tools like Grafana, Elasticsearch, and OpenTelemetry.
- Optimize performance, scalability, and fault tolerance of API services.
- Work closely with business stakeholders and architects to align API strategy with enterprise needs.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing & best practices.
- WSO2-specific Targets:
- Install and configure latest WSO2 on on-premise LINUX server
- Install and configure latest WOS2 on AWS EC2 (LINUX) or EKS
- Integrate WSO2 with an Event-Based Solution (e.g., KAFKA) to allow for event-driven API implementation
- Integrate WSO2 with external Authentication Server (or WSO2 Identity Server)
- Migrate the WSO2 database from MS SQL to a PostgreSQL that will allow for a highly available database configuration
Required Skills
- 3+ years of expertise in WSO2 API Manager (design, customization, and production deployment).
- Strong knowledge of API lifecycle management, throttling, monetization, security protocols (OAuth2, JWT, SAML, etc.).
- Hands-on with WSO2 Enterprise Integrator and WSO2 Identity Server.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Git.
- Proficiency in Python/Java for API development, monitoring automation, and data pipelines.
- Experience in cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and API observability (Grafana, Splunk, OpenSearch, ELK).
- Proven track record in large-scale integration projects (banking/financial services domain preferred).
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and team mentoring skills.
