About the Role

As a Commissioning Writer, you'll adapt long-form fiction into serialized scripts tailored for the UK audience.

This role combines creative storytelling with strong editorial instincts. You'll review source material, identify narrative gaps, and transform stories into culturally relevant scripts while preserving the original story's emotional depth.

You'll work closely with the Creative Lead and editorial teams to ensure stories are consistent, engaging, and ready for high-quality audio production.

If you enjoy story analysis, adapting narratives across cultures, and shaping compelling serialized content, this role is built for you.

What you'll actually do

• Review and analyze source material
• Read and review 4060 chapters per week from source novels.
• Identify issues related to dialogue, prose, character consistency, narrative flow, and overall story structure.
• Flag editorial gaps and propose improvements to strengthen storytelling quality.

Adapt stories for the UK audience

• Transform source material into scripts suited for UK cultural context and audience preferences.
• Ensure dialogue, tone, and setting feel natural while maintaining the original narrative themes and emotional impact.
• Balance localization with story authenticity.

Collaborate with the creative team

• Work closely with the Creative Lead to align on tone, character development, and plot adjustments.
• Ensure story adaptations maintain narrative clarity and strong pacing across serialized episodes.
• Contribute to maintaining a consistent creative vision across projects.

• Possess sharp editorial instincts and can identify narrative issues across large volumes of content
• Are comfortable reviewing and working with long-form fiction
• Can adapt to multiple genres and storytelling styles
• Have strong English proficiency (written and verbal)
• Are detail-oriented and able to maintain quality while working with high-volume storytelling pipelines
