Position Title: Working Engineer (WE)
Purpose and Scope of Position:
The Working Engineer (WE) will be part of an engineering team providing engineering services for both large and small projects. The WE is responsible for engineering in a 3D environment and producing 3D models and 2D drawings in accordance with project requirements under the supervision of the Project Engineer (PE). The role requires applying specialized and/or advanced engineering principles at both conceptual and detailed levels. The WE participates in a wide range of projects, including modeling and drafting during the detailed engineering phase for multi-disciplinary projects.
Experience:
- 1-4 years of experience in a relevant design discipline.
- Experience with engineering packages and design software.
Qualifications:
- Postgraduate or Graduate in an Engineering discipline.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the PE in delivering project requirements related to scope, quantities, quality, cost, and schedule.
- Work in an integrated 3D environment and produce design calculations, reports, specifications, evaluation reports, technical recommendations, 3D models, and 2D drawings as per project requirements.
- Produce and maintain technical and engineering deliverables using 2D and 3D engineering software as required.
- Facilitate the sharing of technical expertise across projects, including the archival of project documents.
- Provide and/or participate in training for resources assigned to the project.
- Perform conceptual layout work for project designs.
- Develop design details, prepare or extract drawings, and check deliverables prior to release to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Ensure coordination with engineers within the discipline and with engineers from other disciplines to ensure project cohesion.
- Coordinate and review clash detection in an integrated model with engineers from other disciplines and resolve any issues.
- Participate in formal engineering review processes to ensure design accuracy and quality.
- Review vendor drawings and documents, ensuring proper archival, and provide inputs to other disciplines as necessary.
- Represent the discipline during site visits or client meetings, as required by the PE/Project Manager (PM).
- Support the technology team/project team in the development and automation work as required.
