Perform stress, thermal, and performance analysis of mechanical components and systems to ensure they meet safety and functionality standards.
Create and refine prototypes based on design specifications and test results.
Product Development:
Work closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, etc.) to ensure that mechanical designs are integrated seamlessly into final products.
Participate in the development and design of new products or systems, from conceptualization to final implementation.
Perform calculations and simulations (e.g., Finite Element Analysis or FEA) to ensure the integrity and reliability of designs.
Testing and Validation:
Develop test plans, prototypes, and perform mechanical testing to validate design assumptions and specifications.
Analyze test data to improve the design and resolve any issues identified during testing.
Ensure that designs meet industry standards and client requirements.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare and maintain accurate documentation, including technical specifications, design calculations, and testing reports.
Generate bill of materials (BOM), assembly instructions, and part specifications for production teams.
Review and update design documentation as necessary during the project lifecycle.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with project managers, other engineers, and departments to ensure that designs align with project goals and timelines.
Communicate design concepts, ideas, and results to stakeholders clearly and effectively.
Provide technical support to production teams during the manufacturing and assembly of mechanical components and systems.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated on the latest trends, tools, and technologies in mechanical design engineering.
Suggest improvements to current processes, design techniques, and materials to enhance product performance and reduce costs.
Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve the quality of designs.
Cost Management:
Assist in managing project budgets and ensure designs are cost-effective while maintaining performance and quality.
Identify opportunities to reduce production costs without compromising design integrity.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in [industry type: manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, etc.].
