Job Title: Workday Extend Developer / Consultant
Job Summary
The Workday Extend Developer is responsible for designing, building, and maintaining custom applications on the Workday Extend platform to enhance and extend core Workday functionality. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and user-friendly solutions aligned with organizational needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, test, and deploy applications using Workday Extend
Build user interfaces using Workday UI Framework and Workday Orchestrate
Develop business logic using Workday Extend APIs, web services, and integrations
Integrate Extend apps with core Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Financials, Recruiting, etc.)
Configure and maintain security roles, domains, and business process frameworks
Develop and manage Workday integrations (EIBs, Core Connectors, REST/SOAP)
Perform unit testing, system testing, and support UAT activities
Troubleshoot and resolve application defects and production issues
Ensure compliance with Workday security, data privacy, and governance standards
Document technical designs, configurations, and support procedures
Collaborate with functional analysts and business partners to translate requirements into technical solutions
Required Qualifications
25+ years of experience working with Workday
Hands-on experience with Workday Extend
Strong understanding of Workday HCM architecture and Business Process Framework
Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, JSON, and XML
Familiarity with Workday Studio and Workday integrations
Knowledge of Workday security concepts (roles, domains, policies)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Workday Extend Certification
Experience with Workday Orchestrate
Background in HRIS, Finance systems, or enterprise SaaS platforms
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
