About the Role
We are seeking an experienced WordPress Developer to join us in a Team Lead capacity. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will drive technical excellence, mentor a team of developers, and deliver high-quality WordPress solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with the ability to guide, mentor, and inspire a development team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of WordPress developers, establishing coding standards and best practices
- Architect and develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, and websites from scratch
- Own end-to-end project delivery, including technical planning, estimation, development, deployment, and post-launch support
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to performance, security, and quality standards
- Collaborate with designers, project managers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
- Troubleshoot complex issues related to performance, security, and compatibility
- Stay updated with the latest WordPress trends, Gutenberg developments, and PHP ecosystem advancements
- Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development of team members
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on WordPress development experience
- Prior experience leading or mentoring developers
- Strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3
- Proven expertise in custom theme and plugin development (not limited to page builders)
- Experience with WooCommerce and WordPress REST API
- Proficiency with Git, version control, and deployment workflows
- Strong understanding of web performance optimization and security best practices
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and team management skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with headless WordPress architecture
- Knowledge of server administration, caching, and CDN configuration
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
- Contributions to open-source WordPress projects
