About The Company
Pangolin is a fully remote B2B marketing agency specializing in serving clients within the SaaS, climate tech, and enterprise software sectors. We focus on creating and maintaining high-performance websites, campaigns, content, and branding initiatives that enable our clients to establish and dominate their categories. Our web projects include new builds, redesigns, landing pages, and ongoing site maintenance across multiple client accounts. We are committed to delivering solutions that are not only visually compelling but also technically robust, ensuring our clients digital assets function seamlessly as live sales tools that generate pipeline and drive revenue.
About The Role
We are seeking a talented and dedicated Web Developer who will take full ownership of our clients websites from development through post-launch maintenance. This role is not about simply building and handing off websites; it is about owning the entire lifecycle, ensuring every site is built correctly, deployed cleanly, and remains optimized and functional long after go-live. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of website development, server management, and performance optimization, with a proactive approach to troubleshooting and ongoing site health. You will be responsible for translating Figma designs into pixel-perfect websites, developing custom WordPress themes, integrating third-party APIs, and managing server configurations. Additionally, you will handle incident response, performance tuning, and deployment workflows, ensuring our clients websites are always running at peak performance and security.
Qualifications
Applicants should have proven experience with WordPress development, including custom theme creation using Figma designs, hooks, filters, and child themes. Proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is essential, along with a solid understanding of React/JavaScript for building interactive components and integrating headless setups. Experience with page builders such as Elementor and Divi, and familiarity with server management tools like cPanel, Plesk, SSH, and DNS configuration, are required. Knowledge of performance optimization techniques, including Core Web Vitals, image formats, caching, and CDN setup, is critical. Candidates should also have experience with multisite WordPress setups, API integrations, version control systems like Git, and SSL certificate management. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities
Development (60%)
- Build pixel-perfect, responsive websites from Figma designs, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
- Develop custom WordPress themes and templates from scratch, avoiding reliance solely on page builders.
- Create and maintain landing pages, microsites, and campaign pages efficiently, with a baseline of delivering at least one page per day.
- Integrate third-party APIs such as CRMs, marketing automation tools, analytics platforms, and form handlers.
- Utilize Webflow when required by clients, understanding its capabilities and limitations.
- Write clean, well-commented code that facilitates easy handovers and collaboration with other developers.
Web Operations & Maintenance (40%)
- Own incident response for site issues, including site downtime, loading errors, SSL problems, plugin conflicts, database issues, and security breaches.
- Manage server configurations, including hosting environments, caching layers, CDN setup, PHP and MySQL tuning, and DNS management.
- Monitor and improve website performance metrics such as Core Web Vitals, GTmetrix, and PageSpeed Insights scores, including image optimization and caching strategies.
- Handle multisite WordPress configurations for multilingual or multi-geography sites where applicable.
- Ensure staging-to-production deployment workflows are followed meticulously, avoiding untested code going live.
- Keep plugins, themes, and core WordPress files updated without causing disruptions.
- Set up and maintain uptime monitoring systems to proactively detect and respond to outages.
