Role Overview:
We are looking for aWordPress Developer Managerto lead our backend development team. The ideal candidate will own the website's architecture, ensure smooth operations, and make strategic tech decisions while mentoring developers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead backend development for CoinGape's WordPress-powered platforms.
- Architect and implement new features and functionalities.
- Ensure100% uptime, troubleshoot, and resolve critical WordPress errors (fatal errors, upgrade failures, etc.) quickly.
- OverseeCMS management, cookies management, and third-party integrations.
- Work closely with front-end, marketing, and design teams.
- Monitor and improve websiteperformance, scalability, SEO, and security.
- Decide on tech stack and cloud resource allocation (AWS, DigitalOcean, etc.).
- Manage, guide, and mentor a team of developers while conductingpeer code reviews.
- MaintainGit management and CI/CD pipelinesfor streamlined deployments.
- Handledatabase optimizationandserver monitoring (New Relic preferred).
- Implement and managesecurity protocols: IP blocking, bot attacks, DDOS mitigation, firewalls, and Cloudflare handling.
- OptimizeSEO-centric aspects: Core Web Vitals, page speed, search console error fixes, custom sitemaps, schema, hreflang subfolders.
- Managelogin functionality, user profiles, and authentication systems.
- Develop and maintainAPIs (REST, Postman testing, JSON, XML).
- Ensure platform stability forhigh-traffic websites (1M+ MAU) with 50k+ pages.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong experience withWordPress backend development & PHP.
- Expertise inLAMP stackwith deep knowledge ofcustom themes, plugins, caching, and upgrades.
- Hands-on knowledge ofMySQL, REST APIs, JSON, XML, JavaScript.
- Proven experience in handlingSEO optimization, security protocols, firewalls, and cloud deployments.
- Ability toarchitect and scale enterprise-level WordPress solutions.
- Experience withGit workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative code reviews.
- Leadership experience in managing and mentoring development teams.
