Windows Application Engineer - Dev

General Summary:

As a key player in Qualcomm's expanding Windows on Snapdragon (WoS) initiative, we are seeking a Windows Application Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will help enable, debug, port, and enhance applications running on Snapdragon platforms under the Windows OS environment. The successful candidate will have strong programming and debugging skills, a deep understanding of Windows OS internals, and a passion for solving complex system-level challenges.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field and 2+ years of relevant experience in software applications engineering or development
• OR
• Master's degree in a relevant field and 1+ year of experience
• OR
• PhD in a relevant field
• 1+ year of combined academic or work experience with:
• Programming languages such as C/C++, Java, Python, etc.
• Debugging techniques for software/system-level troubleshooting

Preferred Skills & Experience:

• Solid experience in C/C++ development for Windows applications
• Familiarity with open-source project integration and build systems
• Strong understanding of Windows OS basics and internals
• Experience with Windows debugging tools, including:
• Visual Studio
• WinDBG
• Event Viewer
• PerfMon
• Good embedded application debugging skills on Windows-based systems
• Prior experience in working with Snapdragon platforms is a plus
• Exposure to cross-platform porting and application migration is highly desirable
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable collaborating with internal cross-functional teams and representing Qualcomm in customer interactions or forums

Key Responsibilities:

• Support partners and customers in bringing up applications successfully on Windows on Snapdragon (WoS) platform
• Assist with debugging and resolving software issues related to application performance or compatibility
• Port and enhance existing applications to optimize them for the Snapdragon architecture
• Research independently and provide hands-on technical solutions with minimal supervision
• Collaborate closely with various internal teams including development, test, product management, and customer engineering
• Represent Qualcomm in technical forums and customer discussions related to application enablement on Snapdragon Windows platforms
• Contribute to tools, automation, and best practices that improve application support and performance on WoS
