Position Summary:As a key member of the Windchill and ThingWorx implementation team, the Windchill Technical Lead will play a critical role in leading the development, customization, and integration of Windchill solutions. The role demands hands-on experience in Windchill development, Java-based backend, and ThingWorx app customization. The candidate will also be responsible for managing upgrades, migration tools, and overall solution optimization.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the Windchill implementation and development team to deliver robust enterprise solutions.
- Analyze technical requirements and translate them into scalable and secure Windchill customizations.
- Design, develop, and review clean, high-quality code adhering to Sopra Steria and industry best practices.
- Customize and configure key Windchill modules such as:
- PDMLink, ProjectLink, MPMLink, PartsLink, SUMA, and SIM
- Perform both client-side and server-side configurations and customizations.
- Handle Windchill business administration and system configuration tasks.
- Create tools such as macros, plugins, migration utilities, and performance optimization scripts.
- Conduct code reviews, manage version control (e.g., SVN), and ensure coding standards.
- Provide end-user support, bug fixes, and technical troubleshooting.
- Follow IT best practices around version control, incident/change management, and documentation.
- Develop and maintain technical and test documentation.
- Integrate Windchill with ThingWorx, including customizing ThingWorx Navigate apps.
Required Qualifications:- Education: BE/BTech or MCA from a reputed institution with strong academic performance.
- Total Experience: 68 years in the IT industry, primarily in PTC Windchill consulting.
- Windchill Development:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience including:
- Windchill APIs, Info*Engine, Task Manager, MVC components
- Core Java Expertise:
- Java, JDBC, JSP, Servlets, JAXB, XML
- Front-End & Tools:
- JavaScript, jQuery, Web Services, Struts
- Database Experience:
- 4+ years working with Oracle or MS SQL Server
- Version Control:
- Experience with SVN or equivalent
Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):- Hands-on experience in ThingWorx Navigate customization and application development.
- Familiarity with engineering processes and product lifecycle terminology.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
