Job Description

Web Development Team Lead

Company: Haris & Co

Location: Calicut (On-site or Hybrid)

CTC: 8 12 LPA (depending on experience and skill)

Role Purpose

To lead Haris & Co's web development division, managing a team of frontend/backend developers, delivering pixel-perfect, high-performance websites and web apps, collaborating closely with design, performance, and brand teams and owning client delivery end-to-end.

Core Responsibilities

1. Project Ownership & Delivery
  • Take ownership of end-to-end website and web app projects from kickoff to deployment.
  • Translate briefs, UI/UX designs, and business goals into robust web solutions.
  • Ensure timely, bug-free delivery and deployment.

2. Team Management
  • Lead and mentor a team of 36 web developers (frontend, backend, full-stack).
  • Conduct code reviews, set coding standards, and foster a strong tech culture.
  • Assign tasks, monitor progress, and ensure team efficiency.

3. Client Collaboration
  • Act as technical lead and client-facing SPOC for web-related projects.
  • Translate client requirements into technical scope, timelines, and roadmaps.
  • Provide proactive updates, documentation, and post-delivery support.

4. Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Work closely with UI/UX designers to ensure design fidelity and responsiveness.
  • Collaborate with SEO, performance marketing, and branding teams to ensure SEO-ready, fast-loading, scalable websites.
  • Guide content and creative teams on what's technically feasible.

5. Code Quality & Infrastructure
  • Set up scalable architecture, version control (Git), staging environments, and CI/CD pipelines where needed.
  • Ensure responsiveness, performance optimization, SEO best practices, and accessibility standards.
  • Keep code modular, clean, and well-documented.

Tech Stack & Tools (Preferred)
  • Frontend: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React.js, Next.js
  • Backend: Node.js / PHP / Python (any), APIs, REST/GraphQL
  • CMS: WordPress (with custom theme/plugin dev), Headless CMS (optional)
  • eCommerce: Shopify, WooCommerce
  • DevOps: Git, GitHub/GitLab, Vercel/Netlify, cPanel, Docker (optional)
  • Other: Figma, Postman, Webflow (good-to-have), Firebase, etc.

Must-Have Skills
  • 35+ years of experience in web development, with 12 years in a leadership or project management role.
  • Hands-on expertise in both frontend and backend (or strong full-stack).
  • Strong project management, task prioritization, and delivery focus.
  • Ability to manage clients, clarify requirements, and propose solutions.
  • Experience delivering responsive, SEO-friendly, and performance-optimized sites.
Key KPIs
  • Timely delivery of projects (on or before deadlines).
  • Website performance (Lighthouse scores, SEO readiness, load speed).
  • Client satisfaction and retention (project delivery, support quality).
  • Code quality, maintainability, and bug rate.
  • Team productivity and technical growth.
