About The Role
We are seeking an experienced backend developer specializing in real-time communication to join our core team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, building, and scaling the complex backend systems that power our live streaming, PK battles, and audio party rooms. You will work closely with frontend developers, mobile teams, and product managers to develop robust, scalable, and efficient backend solutions that deliver seamless real-time experiences to our users. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on innovative features that connect millions of users simultaneously, utilizing advanced technologies such as Node.js, Socket.io, and WebRTC. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building high-performance backend systems and a deep understanding of real-time communication protocols and architectures.
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of proven experience as a Backend Developer, with a focus on real-time applications.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js and its asynchronous programming model, including Async/Await and Promises.
- Hands-on experience with WebSocket libraries like Socket.io for building scalable real-time features such as chat and live updates.
- Solid understanding and practical experience with WebRTC, including signaling, STUN/TURN servers, and media streams for live video and audio communication.
- Deep knowledge of NoSQL databases such as MongoDB and Redis for speed and flexibility, as well as SQL databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL for structured data management.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, and deploying backend services in cloud environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex backend issues efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Design & Develop: Architect, build, and maintain core real-time backend services using Node.js, ensuring high performance and scalability.
- Real-Time Data: Implement and manage high-throughput, low-latency data flows for live chat, gift animations, and user events utilizing Socket.io.
- Video/Audio Streaming: Develop, integrate, and maintain WebRTC signaling servers to facilitate peer-to-peer and SFU connections for live video (PK battles) and multi-user audio (party rooms).
- Database Management: Design, optimize, and manage backend databases, including NoSQL and SQL solutions, to handle high concurrency and ensure data integrity.
- Scalability & Performance: Ensure the backend infrastructure is scalable, reliable, and secure as user base grows, implementing best practices for performance optimization.
- API Development: Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to design, develop, and document efficient APIs that support seamless integration.
- Troubleshooting: Proactively identify and resolve backend issues related to database bottlenecks, network latency, and service outages to maintain platform stability.
