Job Description

1)Purpose of the Position

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing end-to-end warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, inventory control, material handling, and dispatch of raw materials and finished goods.

The role ensures efficient warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, compliance with food safety standards, and timely order fulfilment while supporting manufacturing and distribution activities. The position also leads warehouse teams and drives continuous improvement initiatives aligned with Griffith Foods operational excellence goals

2) Major Duties & Responsibilities

1. Warehouse Operations Management

Manage daily warehouse activities including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch operations.

Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.

Maintain optimal warehouse layout and space utilization to improve efficiency.

Monitor inbound and outbound logistics schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.

Coordinate closely with production, procurement, and logistics teams

2. Inventory Management & Control

Ensure accurate inventory tracking and stock reconciliation through cycle counting and audits.

Implement inventory management practices such as FIFO / FEFO for food products.

Maintain real-time inventory visibility using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems.

Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.

Manage safety stock levels to avoid stock-outs or excess inventory.

3. Team Leadership & Workforce Management

Lead, supervise, and develop warehouse supervisors, operators, and contract staff.

Plan workforce schedules across shifts to meet operational requirements.

Conduct training programs on warehouse procedures, safety standards, and system usage.

Monitor team productivity and implement performance improvement initiatives.

Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

4. Logistics & Dispatch Coordination

Coordinate with logistics partners and transporters for inbound raw materials and outbound shipments.

Ensure compliance with shipping documentation and regulatory requirements.

Monitor freight operations and resolve transportation issues affecting delivery schedules.

Collaborate with supply chain planning teams to align warehouse operations with demand forecasts.

5. Health, Safety & Compliance

Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards such as GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.

Enforce workplace safety policies and conduct regular safety audits.

Manage material handling equipment inspections and ensure safe operation.

Investigate incidents, near misses, and implement preventive actions.

Maintain warehouse housekeeping and sanitation standards required in food manufacturing environments

6. Process Improvement & Operational Excellence

Drive lean warehouse practices and continuous improvement initiatives.

Identify process bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve operational efficiency.

Support digitalization and automation initiatives in warehouse operations.

Monitor and report warehouse KPIs such as:

oInventory accuracy

oOrder fulfilment rate

oOTIF (On-Time In-Full) deliveries

oWarehouse productivity

7. Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination

Prepare regular operational reports for management review.

Collaborate with departments including:

oSupply Chain Planning

oProduction

oQuality Assurance

oProcurement

o

Customer Service

Participate in internal audits, external audits, and compliance reviews.

7) Qualification and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Logistics, Operations, or related field.

Postgraduate qualifications preferred (MBA / Operations)

1015 years of warehouse or supply chain experience in food/FMCG/manufacturing.

Experience in team handling, inventory management, and dispatch operations.

Exposure to SAP or other ERP systems preferred
