Job Description

Role Overview

The Vice President Technology Delivery will serve as the senior-most leader responsible for:

  • End-to-end ownership of technology delivery, PMO excellence, and high-performance engineering operations.
  • Establishing and scaling a greenfield Offshore Delivery Center, including operating model design, governance structures, hiring strategy, and capability development.
  • Leading multi-tower, multi-technology programs with budgets exceeding USD 10M+ and driving enterprise-wide modernization and product engineering initiatives.
  • Implementing global delivery frameworks, agile-at-scale methodologies, and customer-centric engagement models aligned to company-wide strategic objectives.
  • Partnering with global CXO stakeholders on technology transformation, digital acceleration, and roadmap execution.

This is a highly visible, strategic role requiring consulting-grade thinking, deep delivery management expertise, and proven experience building large, distributed engineering organizations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership & Offshore Center Build-Out

  • Architect, operationalize, and scale the India Offshore Center of Excellence (CoE), including competency development, hiring plans, facility readiness, and technology infrastructure.
  • Establish long-term strategic plans for digital delivery, engineering velocity, capability upliftment, and operational maturity.
  • Build and institutionalize a global delivery operating model (GDM), integrating onshore/offshore/nearshore execution frameworks.

2. Technology Delivery & Program Governance

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large-scale digital, cloud, data, and application modernization programs with budgets of USD 10M100M+.
  • Oversee multi-disciplinary delivery teams covering:
  • Software Engineering & Architecture
  • QA, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering
  • DevOps, SRE, and Platform Engineering
  • Cloud Engineering (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Data Engineering, ML Ops, and Advanced Analytics
  • Define, track, and optimize delivery KPIs including velocity, defect index, cycle time, productivity, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.
  • Establish robust PMO structuresportfolio governance, RAID logs, dependency tracking, and milestone baselining.

3. Agile-at-Scale & Engineering Excellence (preferable any 02 of the below skills)

  • Implement SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, and lean delivery practices across functional teams.
  • Set engineering standards for CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps integration, performance benchmarking, cloud-native architectures, and microservices design.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, engineering innovation, and technical excellence.

4. Stakeholder, Client & Executive Management

  • Collaborate with global CXO stakeholders, business unit leaders, and product owners to align on technology vision, delivery outcomes, and multi-year roadmaps.
  • Drive executive-level communication, governance reviews, steering committees, and strategic decision-making forums.
  • Ensure transparent reporting, financial governance, delivery predictability, and proactive risk escalation.

5. Security, Compliance & Quality Frameworks (Preferable)

  • Ensure adherence to global standards such as:
  • ITIL v4, ISO 27001, ISO 20000
  • NIST CSF, CIS Controls, SOC 2 Type-II
  • Secure SDLC, data governance, and risk management practices
  • Embed security-by-design, quality gates, and compliance checkpoints across the delivery lifecycle.

6. Talent Management & Organizational Development

  • Build, mentor, and scale large, diverse cross-functional teams (3002000 FTE over time).
  • Deploy structured learning programs, competency frameworks, success profiles, and leadership development tracks.
  • Attract top-tier talent from industry, product companies, and leading GCCs.

7. Consulting, Innovation & Product Engineering Mindset

  • Integrate best practices from top-tier consulting methodologies (McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Big 4) into delivery excellence.
  • Champion innovation initiativesincluding automation, AI-driven optimization, reusable accelerators, and product engineering frameworks.
  • Oversee end-to-end Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), from concept to launch to continuous improvement.

Desired Candidate Profile

Experience

  • Minimum 15+ years in technology delivery, program management, or digital transformation roles.
  • At least 5 years in senior leadership roles within multinational enterprises, GCCs, consulting firms, or large IT service organizations.
  • Prior experience within consulting environments such as McKinsey, Bain, BCG, or Big Four firms preferred.
  • Demonstrated track record of:
  • Building and scaling greenfield offshore centers or technology hubs.
  • Managing large distributed teams across geographies.
  • Leading multi-million-dollar transformation engagements.
  • Delivering cloud-native, data, AI/ML, automation, and product development programs.
  • Strong familiarity with consulting-driven delivery models gained in or through:
  • McKinsey, BCG, Bain
  • Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG
  • Big Tech/GCCs with global delivery maturity

Technical Depth

  • Deep expertise in enterprise architectures, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), microservices, API ecosystems, DevOps/SRE, data platforms, and digital engineering.
  • Strong grounding in Agile-at-scale frameworks: SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Lean Portfolio Management.
  • Experience with security, governance, compliance, and IT service management frameworks.

Education & Certifications

  • Graduate/Postgraduate from a premier global management or technology institution (INSEAD, ISB, IIMs, IITs, Carnegie Mellon, MIT, Stanford, etc.).
  • Desirable certifications:
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP
  • SAFe Agilist / Scrum Master
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP preferred)
