We are looking for a VP / Head of Engineering who is a core technologist at heart someone who can lead engineering with depth, speed, and conviction, and build AI-native SaaS applications for the recruitment and talent ecosystem.

The Role

This is a hands-on, ownership-driven leadership role.

As VP / Head of Engineering, you will own the engineering vision, execution, and quality of one or more SaaS platforms serving the recruitment and talent industry. You will inherit an existing product and lead it to the next level of innovation, scalability, and automation, with AI as a foundational layer.

You will lead an engineering organization of 20-30 resources and work closely with product leadership to deliver state-of-the-art, enterprise-grade SaaS solutions under aggressive timelines.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in high-pressure environments, has deep confidence in their technical ability, and is passionate about building exceptional products using modern technologies and AI-powered development workflows.

Core Responsibilities

1. Technology Ownership & Platform Evolution

  • Own the end-to-end engineering delivery for SaaS platforms in the recruitment and talent domain.
  • Quickly assess and stabilize the current product architecture, codebase, and engineering practices.
  • Drive the platform toward a modern, scalable, AI-first architecture.
  • Ensure high standards for performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.

2. AI-First Engineering & End-to-End Automation

  • Embed AI as a core capability across the platform, enabling:
  • Intelligent matching, recommendations, and search
  • Automated workflows across recruitment and talent lifecycle processes
  • AI-driven insights, analytics, and decision support
  • Leverage AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and LLM-based agents to accelerate product delivery.
  • Drive end-to-end automation of business and engineering workflows using AI and intelligent systems.
  • Champion rapid application development while maintaining enterprise-grade quality.

3. Engineering Leadership & Execution Excellence

  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing engineering team of 20 resources.
  • Set and enforce engineering standards for code quality, testing, CI/CD, security, and observability.
  • Own delivery commitments and ensure predictable, high-quality releases under aggressive deadlines.
  • Be hands-on when required, especially in architecture decisions, critical problem-solving, and execution bottlenecks.

4. Product Partnership & Outcome Ownership

  • Partner closely with product leadership to translate business and customer needs into clear technical execution plans.
  • Provide strong technical guidance on product design, trade-offs, and long-term scalability.
  • Take full ownership of engineering and product outcomes, not just feature delivery.

5. People Leadership & Culture

  • Lead with humility, confidence, and clarity.
  • Build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, speed, and ownership.
  • Inspire engineers through hands-on leadership and deep technical credibility.
  • Manage performance decisively while investing in talent growth and team development.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 12+ years of software engineering experience, including significant time in engineering leadership roles for SaaS platforms ideally in recruitment/HR Tech industry.
  • Deep hands-on expertise with the MEAN stack:
  • MongoDB
  • Express.js
  • Angular
  • Node.js
  • Proven experience building and scaling SaaS platforms, ideally in recruitment, HR tech, or talent ecosystems.
  • Strong experience inheriting existing products and rapidly improving quality, velocity, and architecture.
  • Extensive experience using AI-powered development tools (e.g., Cursor, GitHub Copilot, LLM APIs).
  • Solid understanding of cloud-native architectures, APIs, microservices, and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience delivering secure, enterprise-grade applications.
