Job Summary:
Responsible for the pre & post fixture operations of Dry bulk vessels
Task & Responsibilities:
1) Assist the Chartering Department in collating the information required by customers during the pre-fixture negotiations. The information required may include:
- Details of the vessel specifications
- Cargo carrying capabilities
- Performance history of the vessel
- Assessing suitability for the trade & Vessel scheduling
- Cargo hold readiness
- Estimated Voyage Costs
- Port specific information
2) Execution of Voyage:
- Thorough in Voyage planning & voyage orders for Master, including maximizing on cargo intake and bunker requirements etc.
- To liaise and coordinate with Brokers, Charterers, Owners, Agents, Internal departments on efficient & to facilitate execution of the voyage on a 24/7 basis.
- Monitor ships performance at sea.
- Liaising with accounting and preparing summary of outstanding, receivables.
- Ensure collection of all receivables to improve cash flow.
- Contest / defend and negotiate claims.
- Thorough understanding of the voyage Profit & Loss account.
3) Bunkering & Vessel Optimisation:
- To ascertain that the vessel optimizes cargo intakes & to ensure vessel is sufficiently bunkered.
- To coordinate with weather routing services & ensure vessel is following optimal sea route.
4) Internal & External Liaison:
- To negotiate & appoint port agents, plan bunkers stem as per grades permissible to trading areas.
- To bill for freight and other charterers claims and coordinate with post fixture group.
- Post fixture inputs to Claims Coordinators
- Review and approval of Port Disbursement accounts.
- Record keeping and Data Management in company systems
Qualification & Experience:
- Minimum (5 - 6) years experience in commercial operations
- Seagoing experience in the management position on Dry Bulk vessels.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong experience in pre-fixture operations
- The candidate should be able to work independently & also feel comfortable collaborating & communicating across all levels of the organization.
- Good at negotiations and communications.
- Experience in IMOS operating system.
- Need to be pro-active rather reactive in nature
