We are seeking a skilled and proactive VMware Administrator to manage and maintain our virtual infrastructure. The role requires hands-on experience in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies to ensure optimal performance, availability, and scalability of enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain the VMware virtual infrastructure, including ESXi hosts, vCenter servers, and virtual machines.
- Perform routine installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching of VMware products.
- Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and capacity planning for virtual environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VMware infrastructure, storage, and network connectivity.
- Manage snapshots, cloning, templates, and VM provisioning.
- Ensure system security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place and tested.
- Work closely with storage, network, and application teams to support infrastructure requirements.
- Document configurations, system changes, and standard operating procedures.
- Participate in infrastructure automation and optimization initiatives.
Required Skills:
- 46 years of hands-on experience as a VMware Administrator or similar role.
- Strong experience with:
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter Server
- VM provisioning, vMotion, HA/DRS clusters
- Solid understanding of storage (SAN/NAS) and networking concepts as they relate to virtualization.
- Experience with VMware Tools, Snapshots, Templates, and VM cloning.
- Familiarity with Windows and/or Linux OS administration in virtualized environments.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with VMware vRealize Suite, vSAN, or NSX is a plus.
- Exposure to PowerCLI or other scripting tools for automation.
- Knowledge of backup solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault) in virtualized environments.
- VMware certifications such as VCP-DCV are highly desirable.
