Role Description: This is a Video Editor role at an early-stage startup based in Bengaluru. You will work closely with the founder and core marketing team to create, edit, and publish short-form video content primarily Reels and TikToks that drives brand growth and creator acquisition. You'll be involved in conceptualising hooks, cutting raw footage, adding motion elements, and iterating fast based on performance data. This role is ideal for someone who lives on short-form content, has a sharp eye for trends, and thrives in a fast-moving startup environment.

Roles and Responsibilities:
- Edit high-quality short-form videos (Reels, TikToks, Shorts) from raw footage or AI-generated assets
- Develop and maintain a consistent visual style and brand language across all content
- Work closely with the founder/marketing team to translate ideas and scripts into scroll-stopping videos
- Add captions, motion graphics, sound design, and transitions that enhance retention
- Stay on top of trending audio, formats, and editing styles and apply them quickly
- Manage a content calendar and deliver edits within fast turnaround timelines
- Analyse performance metrics (views, watch time, shares) and iterate edits accordingly
- Continuously improve content quality based on feedback and platform algorithm changes
Requirements:
- At least 1 year of experience as a video editor with a strong focus on Reels/short-form content
- A portfolio of published Reels or short-form videos you have personally edited
- Proficiency in tools like CapCut, Premiere Pro, After Effects, or similar
- Strong sense of pacing, hooks, and what makes content retain viewers past the first 3 seconds
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple edits, and meet deadlines without hand-holding
- Understanding of platform-specific formats aspect ratios, caption placement, audio trends
- Bonus: Experience with AI video tools (Kling, Runway, Creatify, ElevenLabs, etc.)
