Position Details

Job Title: Video Editor - Social Media

Location: Mumbai, Maharashtra

Work Mode: On-site / Hybrid (based on discussion)

Employment Type: Full-time

Experience required minimum 2 years in social media video editing

Salary Range: 30,000 - 45,000 per month (based on skills and experience)

Role Overview

We're looking for a trend-savvy Video Editor who specializes in creating engaging content for social media platforms. You'll be responsible for editing short-form and long-form videos optimized for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter/X. The ideal candidate understands what makes content go viral, has a sharp eye for pacing and storytelling, and can juggle multiple client projects without breaking a sweat.

Key Responsibilities

Edit short-form videos (Reels, Shorts, Stories) and long-form content for various social media platforms, ensuring each piece is optimized for the specific platform's format and audience behavior

Stay updated on trending audio, memes, formats, and viral content stylesand proactively suggest ideas to incorporate them into client projects

Craft compelling hooks within the first 1-3 seconds of videos to maximize watch time and engagement

Repurpose long-form videos (webinars, interviews, podcasts, event footage) into bite-sized, engaging clips suitable for social distribution

Apply platform-specific best practices including aspect ratios (9:16, 1:1, 16:9), caption placement, safe zones, and export settings for optimal quality

Add motion graphics, kinetic typography, text animations, and visual effects to enhance storytelling and viewer retention

Collaborate with the content, design, and client servicing teams to understand briefs, incorporate feedback, and deliver polished final outputs

Manage multiple projects simultaneously with quick turnaround times while maintaining high quality standards

Organize and maintain video assets, project files, and a library of reusable templates and elements

Analyze performance of published content and apply learnings to improve future edits

Required Skills & Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience editing social media content (Reels, Shorts, platform-native videos)agency or brand-side experience preferred

Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects (mandatory)

Working knowledge of CapCut, DaVinci Resolve, or similar mobile/desktop editing tools

Strong portfolio demonstrating high-engagement or viral social media videos

Deep understanding of pacing, transitions, hooks, and storytelling techniques that drive views and shares

Knowledge of current social media trends, meme culture, and platform algorithms (Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter/X)

Basic motion graphics and text animation skills

Understanding of color correction, audio syncing, and sound design basics

Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality output with quick turnarounds

Strong communication skills and ability to take creative feedback constructively

Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills

Experience creating content for diverse industries (real estate, healthcare, finance, gaming, lifestyle)

Familiarity with Canva, Figma, or basic graphic design tools

Knowledge of AI-powered editing tools and workflows

Basic understanding of social media analytics and what metrics matter

Experience with podcast or interview-style content editing

Understanding of YouTube SEO and thumbnail design principles

Exposure to influencer content or personal branding videos
