Job Description

Job Title: Video Editor (Long-Form + Short-Form Content)

Location: In-Office

Type: Full Time

About the Role:

We are looking for a creative, fast, and detail-obsessed Video Editor who understands both storytelling and performance-driven content.

You will edit:

  • Long-form YouTube videos (8–20 mins)
  • Short-form content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok)
  • Brand campaigns & lifestyle content
  • Behind-the-scenes, vlogs, narrative pieces

Key Responsibilities:

Long-Form Editing

  • Edit YouTube videos with strong storytelling structure
  • Improve retention using pacing, jump cuts, b-roll, music, graphics
  • Add subtitles, motion graphics, and sound design
  • Cut fluff and tighten narrative without losing authenticity
  • Optimize videos for watch time and audience retention
  • Cutdowns for YouTube teasers
  • Thumbnail pacing awareness

Short-Form Editing

  • Create high-performing Reels/Shorts from long-form content
  • Build strong hooks in first 3 seconds
  • Add captions optimized for mobile viewing
  • Understand trends, meme culture, fast pacing
  • Deliver platform-optimized formats (9:16, 1:1, etc.)

Creative & Brand Alignment

  • Maintain consistent brand tone and visual identity
  • Suggest creative improvements (don't just execute)
  • Source relevant b-roll, sound effects, and music
  • Collaborate with content strategist/founder

Additional Content:

  • 4–8 ad creatives per month
  • Campaign launch edits
  • Event recap videos (when required)
  • Product edits / lifestyle montages

Must-Have Skills:

Strong command over:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro / Final Cut Pro
  • After Effects (basic motion graphics)
  • CapCut (for fast turnaround reels)

Understanding of:

  • YouTube retention metrics
  • Instagram & Shorts algorithms
  • Hook psychology
  • Thumbnail pacing awareness
  • Strong sense of music timing & emotional cuts
  • Ability to deliver under deadlines
  • Ability to handle volume without quality drop

What We Are Looking For in an Ideal Candidate:

  • 2–4 years of editing experience
  • Proven portfolio (YouTube + Reels mandatory)
  • Experience editing for creators / D2C brands is a plus
  • Strong storytelling instinct (not just technical skill)
  • Understands Indian + global content styles
  • Fast turnaround time
  • Comfortable with feedback loops
  • Emotionally intelligent storyteller
  • Hungry, sharp, and high-output

Bonus Points If You:

  • Understand skate, street, lifestyle culture
  • Can color grade professionally
  • Can create simple motion graphics from scratch
  • Understand how to cut content for virality
