Role Summary
As a Video Editor, you will create engaging short-form and long-form video content for Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and iScholar in-app platforms. This role requires strong visual storytelling, rapid turnaround times, and a deep understanding of current social media trends to maximize audience engagement and retention.
Key Responsibilities
1. Video Editing & Post-Production
Edit short-form content (30s–90s) and long-form videos according to creative briefs.
Incorporate smooth transitions, dynamic captions, motion graphics, sound effects, and background music.
Deliver high-quality video exports that align with the brand's tone and visual identity.
Optimize video formats and layouts for specific platforms (Instagram, YouTube, iScholar App, etc.).
2. Content Optimization & Creativity
Enhance pacing and storytelling to maximize audience hooks, retention, and completion rates.
Stay up to date with viral trends, editing styles, internet memes, and platform algorithms.
Provide creative input on scripts, visual pacing, and overall content direction.
Repurpose long-form videos into multiple high-performing short clips.
3. Collaboration & Workflow Management
Work closely with content creators, educators, and team leads.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while consistently meeting deadlines.
Apply team feedback efficiently and iterate quickly on video drafts.
4. Quality Control & Brand Consistency
Ensure absolute accuracy in all captions, subtitles, and on-screen text.
Maintain consistent use of brand fonts, color palettes, tone, and overall style.
Adhere strictly to internal quality control (QC) and publishing standards.
Key Skills & Competencies
Software Mastery: Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
Motion Graphics: Basic working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or general motion design (Preferred).
Platform Expertise: Deep understanding of social media video formats, pacing, and trend cycles.
Core Instincts: Strong sense of timing, structural flow, and storytelling mechanics.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Any Graduate or Diploma holder. A background in Film, Media, or Mass Communication is a plus.
Experience: 2+ years of hands-on video editing experience (experience in the EdTech industry is preferred).
Mandatory: Proven experience editing high-retention Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts.
Freshers: Welcome to apply if backed by a strong, creative video portfolio.
Language: Comfortable working with both Hindi and English content.
Bonus Skills
Prior experience with educational, infotainment, or creator-led digital content.
Solid understanding of audience retention metrics and social media analytics.
Familiarity with modern AI tools for automated editing, captioning, or workflow optimization.
