We are looking for a talented Video Editor to assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the director's vision and is suitable for broadcasting.
As a film and video editor, you should be able to bring sight and sound together in order to tell a cohesive story
Responsibilities
Edit and assemble raw footage into a seamless final product that maintains continuity and remains visually engaging for the audience.
- Understand creative briefs and interpret project requirements to meet the production team's objectives.
- Review scripts, storyboards, and raw footage to identify the best shots and create a structured editing plan.
- Cut, trim, and arrange video segments to build strong storytelling flow and impactful sequences.
- Add background music, voiceovers, sound effects, dialogues, subtitles, and visual elements to enhance overall output.
- Create initial drafts (rough cuts) and deliver polished final edits based on feedback and quality standards.
- Ensure smooth transitions, proper pacing, and logical sequencing throughout the video content.
- Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders during pre-production, production, and post-production phases.
- Maintain proper file management, organize project folders, and ensure backups of raw and edited content.
- Stay updated with the latest editing trends, tools, and industry best practices to improve creativity and productivity.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Video Editor with strong knowledge of post-production workflows.
- Hands-on expertise with professional editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, or similar software.
- Strong portfolio showcasing video editing skills, creativity, and storytelling ability.
- Excellent understanding of timing, rhythm, continuity, and visual composition.
- Knowledge of motion graphics, compositing, and special effects is an added advantage.
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple editing projects efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and ability to understand feedback and implement revisions accurately.
- Creative mindset with a passion for content creation and cinematic storytelling.
- Bachelor's degree in Film Making, Media Studies, Cinematography, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
