Newton School of Technology (NST) is building a new-age technology institution focused
on real-world learning, creativity, and innovation. Alongside education, NST produces
high-quality video content that captures student life, learning journeys, culture, and
ambition ranging from stylised social media videos to long-form YouTube documentaries.

The Role
As a Video Director, you will focus on directing and executing shoots for NST's video
content. This is a hands-on, on-ground role centered on stylised visual execution, camera
work, lighting, and shoot planning.

You will work closely with producers, editors, and content teams to deliver high-quality
shoots for:
Stylised short-form content (Instagram Reels, Shorts)
Narrative-driven YouTube documentaries and campus stories
Perfomance Ads (Meta)

What You'll Do

Direction & Shoot Execution
Direct video shoots for:
Stylised social media content (IG Reels, Shorts)
YouTube documentaries, interviews, and student stories
Decide framing, camera movement, pacing, and visual style per format
Direct on-camera talent and real subjects for authentic performances
Ensure strong visual quality and consistency on shoot days

Camera, Lighting & Production Setups
Operate cameras or lead camera execution during shoots
Design and execute lighting setups for:
Stylised social shoots
Documentary and real-world environments
Confidently use gimbals, handheld, tripod, studio, and run-and-gun setups
Manage on-set audio capture and troubleshoot technical issues

Pre-Production Support
Create shot breakdowns, shot lists, and storyboards
Collaborate with producers on shoot planning and visual approach
Prepare technical and setup requirements ahead of shoots

Equipment & Vendor Coordination
Coordinate rental equipment needs (camera, lighting, audio, grip)
Work with rental houses and vendors for shoot requirements
Oversee setup, breakdown, and safe handling of equipment on set

Post-Production Collaboration
Brief editors clearly on shot breakdowns, narrative intent, and writer's version
Ensure edits follow the planned structure, pacing, and visual flow
Review cuts and provide clear, direction-focused feedback
Travel & On-Ground Work
Travel for shoots, events, campus activities, and special projects
Work flexibly in dynamic, real-world environments

What You've Done
56 years of hands-on experience in video direction or production
Proven experience shooting: Stylised short-form social content
Long-form or documentary-style videos
Strong technical understanding of camera systems, lighting, audio, and
stabilization
Experience working across multiple production setups
Comfortable directing shoots independently on ground
Experience coordinating with vendors and production teams
Strong visual sensibility and storytelling instincts

Portfolio Requirement
Showreel / video portfolio is mandatory
Must include: Stylised IG Reels / Shorts
YouTube documentaries or long-form narrative work
