We are hiring a Vice President Controls to lead the risk and control agenda for our Private Banking & Wealth Management (PBWM) vertical. This is a strategic role within our Offshore Centre of Excellence, responsible for strengthening the first line of defence, embedding robust control frameworks, and driving a culture of accountability across business functions.
This opportunity is ideal for a seasoned control leader who thrives in dynamic environments, has hands-on experience managing risks in private banking products (especially credits and secured lending), and is ready to take charge of high-visibility initiatives.
What You'll Own
- Lead the Risk & Control framework for PBWM, including RCSA, issue management, and control testing.
- Identify control weaknesses, drive root cause analysis, and partner with stakeholders on timely remediation.
- Align with global standards and frameworks such as ERMF, Operational Risk, and internal control policies.
- Translate complex risk narratives into actionable reports and communicate them effectively to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Risk, Compliance, Audit, Legal, and Product Owners.
- Own governance, assurance readiness, and uplift of control practices across key business processes.
- Guide teams through control transformation projects and enterprise-wide risk initiatives.
What You Bring
- 1516 years of experience in Controls, Operational Risk, or Audit (VP level), OR
- 12+ years of experience with a background from premium academic institutions.
- Deep understanding of Private Banking / Wealth Management products credits, secured borrowing, etc.
- Expertise in risk frameworks: ERMF, ORF, control testing, and issue lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical mindset with hands-on experience in Excel (pivots, formulas, VLOOKUP) and handling large datasets.
- Excellent communication skills with proven ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders.
- Strong people leadership or SME capabilities able to coach, mentor, and drive performance.
