Vice President - Technology

We are looking for a seasoned Vice President - Technology who is passionate about system architecture, cloud-native development, and engineering excellence.

In this leadership role, you will architect and own core backend services, guide teams in building highly available and scalable platforms, and work closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver mission-critical products. You will mentor engineers, drive best practices across cloud, microservices, and DevOps, and take full ownership of end-to-end delivery while ensuring performance, security, and reliability at scale.

• 10-15 years of experience working with backend and frontend technologies and modern engineering frameworks.

• Proven experience leading engineering teams to design, build, deploy, and maintain business applications on AWS Cloud using microservices architecture.

• Strong expertise in architecting complex, modern applications with hands-on experience in Python or the JavaScript ecosystem (ES6+/TypeScript).

• Experience implementing cloud and microservices best practices while adhering to standard architecture patterns.

• Ability to translate business requirements into scalable, highly available technical solutions by working closely with product management and engineering leads.

• Strong mentoring skills with the ability to coach engineers in writing testable, reusable, efficient, and maintainable code.

• Experience working directly with clients on API design, implementation, troubleshooting, and identifying enhancement opportunities.

• Hands-on experience configuring Dev, QA, and Production environments, managing packages and dependencies, and collaborating with Cloud Ops, CI, and QA teams.

• Experience participating in and driving all phases of the software development lifecycle.

• Ability to own delivery of components end-to-end, including planning, execution, and team workload management.

• Act as a technical escalation point for design decisions, technical blockers, and engineering best practices.

• Strong experience reviewing architecture, design, and code to ensure alignment with best practices and NFRs such as availability, reliability, security, and performance.

• Experience leading performance engineering initiatives, including designing test scenarios and validating high-throughput systems at scale.

• Willingness to participate in 24x7 application support, including overnight or off-hours support during hotfixes, emergencies, and special events.

• Experience preparing architecture and design documentation and guiding teams to produce clear, concise technical documentation.

• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases like Cassandra or BigQuery.

• Strong understanding of scalable system design principles, algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and space/time complexity.

• Deep commitment to SOLID, DRY, KISS, and YAGNI principles and clean coding standards.

• Proficiency with Git and experience leading release management, branching, tagging, and deployment strategies.

• Experience building and supporting multi-tenant systems across multiple time zones and languages with high availability and disaster recovery.

• Hands-on experience with cloud and data platforms such as Lambda, Cassandra, DynamoDB, BigQuery, Redshift, Kafka, or equivalent tools on AWS or similar cloud providers.
